Meet The Presenters
Zoe Jorgensen
Certified Trainer for the IEA Center for Teaching and Learning, Retired Math Teacher
I am a retired teacher who served as an elementary teacher in the Idaho Falls district for 35 years. I was an active member during my career and became an IEA trainer and have enjoyed helping other educators grow. Since retirement, I have continued to present various classes supporting our members with professional development.
I have been involved with teacher evaluations in many different ways. I served on the Idaho Falls District #91 board policy committee to develop the evaluation processes when Danielson was mandated by the State Board of Education and presented the IEA Evaluation Toolkit classes throughout several regions. I achieved and renewed National Board Certification, and later scored the for the National Board. When the State Department proposed the MEP process, I became involved and presented MEP support classes and later volunteered to score the MEP portfolios.
I believe the more a teacher knows about the evaluation processes used the better they can guide and control their own careers.
Jolene Dockstader
Certified Trainer for the IEA Center for Teaching & Learning, Middle School Language Arts Teacher
I am a 7th grade ELA teacher, and I love to teach! I was asked to serve on the committee to create the standards and rubrics for the Master Educator Portfolio. It was an interesting experience and I learned a great deal. I love sharing what I learned! I have a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction, so my students call me Dr. D. When I’m not teaching, I love to camp in the lovely Idaho forests, read fiction and non-fiction of all sorts. My reading companions are my mom and my pug Bitsy. I have created several versions of my portfolio, and though it is time consuming, I have gained great insight into who I am as a teacher. It is empowering! These same strategies will work to help you advance on the career ladder by providing evidence of “distinguished” in Domains 2 and 3.
