This 3 part research methodologies follows a careful review of the several requirements of what makes an individual a research literate individual. Each course will require participation. The user should come expected to practice these activities during the course and should have another window open, or a mobile device available.

Part 2:

The third standard set forth by the ACRL is the ability to evaluate information. Once you found something, how do you know its any good? What makes a reputable source? How do you know that it fits your needs? This course will review evaluating resources, especially online resources, found on the web, as well as determining which paid resource is best for your office. It will also focus on how to evaluate AI responses and how to better prompt engineer for more effective and accurate answers.

The program also reviews the hierarchy of authorities, and proper notetaking and research as prescribed by Circular 230. Circ 230 10.22 covers diligence to accuracy and evaluating resources, and using correct resources in synthesizing an argument is a key part of being an effective tax professional. We will also look at Circ 10.34 and 10.35.
