With COVID-19 giving many of us downtime at home with our families, we invite you to take this opportunity to attend our online interactive community discussion. We will use the movie "Screenagers NEXT CHAPTER: Uncovering Skills For Stress Resilience" as a starting point for an online interactive discussion about how we help teens build crucial skills to navigate stress, anxiety, and depression in our digital age.


High stress, anxiety, and depression are experienced by millions of young people. This film follows physician and filmmaker, Delaney Ruston, as she discovers solutions for improved adolescent well-being in the digital age.

Dr. Michelle Alexander
Panelist
Dr. Michelle Alexander is the Library Media Specialist at Richard Montgomery High School. She serves on the MCPS Communication Design Team and is the Maryland State Educators Association Board lead on the President's Advisory Council on Implicit Bias and Culturally Responsive Pedagogy, Practice, and Instructional Content. She is also a family law attorney and licensed trainer in Restorative Justice, Equity and Multicultural education issues.

Dr. Adam Pletter is a licensed Child Psychologist in Bethesda, Maryland. He specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults. His particular area of interest is navigating this new digital culture — and the new universal parenting struggle that has emerged. He hosts workshops nationally on digital guidelines, safeguards and solutions.

Dr. Spector is a nationally recognized expert in digital addiction. Since 2009, he has specialized in the treatment of compulsive tech use in his Maryland-based private practice. He has appeared on Good Morning America, NPR, local news, and in the Washington Post, the New York Times, the Baltimore Sun, Scholastic, Bethesda Magazine, and others. Dr. Spector is a sought-after speaker for his ground-breaking treatments for mental health as it relates to digital media.

Panelist
Dr. Clifford Sussman is internationally known as a pioneer in treating internet and video game addiction. He has been in private practice in psychiatry for children, adolescents, and young adults in Washington, DC since 2008 and is an expert consultant for the Digital Use Disorder Track at Caron Renaissance in Boca Raton, FL.
