After 25 years as the CEO of NJM Insurance Group, upon retirement, Bernie Flynn turned his focus to volunteering and then serving as the CEO of Mercer Street Friends. He was drawn to this social service organization because of its well-known support of the New Jersey community and its commitment to education through the community schools' model, which fosters partnerships between the school system and community resources.
We invite all corporate and nonprofit leaders, as well as all volunteers, to join us for this insightful presentation as Bernie shares his journey and the lessons he learned along the way addressing key topics such as:
• Transitioning from corporate leader to nonprofit leader
• Identifying and embracing the essential leadership skills that are common across all organizations
• Offering a disciplined, strategic, and flexible approach
• Developing effective, transparent communication styles, honing listening skills and gaining empathy and understanding for the community
• Being positioned to drive and respond to constant change
Armed with decades of proven leadership experience, Flynn was the right choice at the right time to take this nonprofit to a new level. We look forward to a great discussion.
