Day 2, session 2 of the Primary stream is from Helen Frostick who will explore Ofsted inspection under the new Education Inspection Framework (EIF).

Since September, the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) has signalled a new focus for Ofsted inspectors, who will be looking for broad and rich curriculum offers and scrutinising curriculum ‘intent, implementation and impact’ in schools. There is also a significant focus on personal development and skills, pupil wellbeing and disadvantage, as well as issues like teaching to the test and off-rolling. The overlaps between these changes and Pupil Premium practice are clear. In this workshop, Helen Frostick will report on inspection preparation under the new EIF regime. Her school, St Mary Magdalen's Catholic Primary School, has recently undergone an intensive EIF-focused review conducted in collaboration with four local authority school improvement partners, one of whom is an Ofsted inspector.

In this workshop she will talk about the lessons she has learned from the experience – with a specific focus on what Ofsted is looking for when it comes to Pupil Premium practice, interventions, evaluation and outcomes. St Mary Magdalen’s is an outstanding school with around 9% Pupil Premium.
