Do you know the difference between topical and transdermal cannabis products? By understanding the differences between the two you can choose the best cannabis product for your needs.

Join the Farmacy Cannabis Lecture Series to learn more about these two application methods that are often confused. Our guest speaker is Allie Greenstone, the National Educator at Mary’s Medicinals, a leading cannabis brand in the wellness category and the first to market a cannabis-based transdermal patch.

This webinar will explain how topical products work on the surface of the skin and how cannabinoids do not enter the bloodstream. This means that a topical product acts locally and for the most part, is not intoxicating. On the other hand, transdermal products can penetrate the skin and enter the bloodstream, thereby allowing the effects on the whole body through distribution via the bloodstream.

In this presentation, the speaker will also discuss the ingredients and correct application of transdermal products. The main function of the skin is to keep out foreign particles. As a result, compounds will generally not be absorbed as easily unless they include ingredients that facilitate skin penetration.
