Day 2, session 2 of the Secondary stream is from Helen Everitt and Ryan Sallows on Ofsted and the Pupil Premium: Inspection under the new Education Inspection Framework (EIF).

Since September, the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) has signalled a new focus for Ofsted inspectors, who will be looking for broad and rich curriculum offers and scrutinising curriculum ‘intent, implementation and impact’ in schools. There is also a significant focus on personal development and skills, pupil wellbeing and disadvantage, as well as issues like teaching to the test and off-rolling. The overlaps between these changes and Pupil Premium practice are clear.

In this workshop, Oriel High School (15% Pupil Premium) will report on what inspection is like under the new EIF regime. The school has experienced a successful visit from Ofsted under the EIF and in this workshop senior leaders Helen Everitt and Ryan Sallows will talk about the lessons they have learned from the experience – with a specific focus on what Ofsted is looking for when it comes to Pupil Premium practice, interventions, evaluation and outcomes.
