USB-C is established as a standard interface and can be found in most smartphones, notebooks, and peripheral devices. The USB port also serves as the fast-charging port for most of these devices. As a result, designing robust protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD) and overheating conditions has never been more important. We will show how TDK can help to overcome these challenges with our newly released range of miniaturized high-performance TVS diodes for ESD protection, designed for reliable data traffic and energy transfer. Due to their ultra-slim package, they are an excellent solution for smartphones, true wireless earbuds, smart watches, and many other wearable applications with tight space requirements.
