ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
As a result of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program, which allocates $42.45B to expand high-speed internet access across the US, states have been increasingly leveraging high-precision building footprint and building-based geocoding data to identify broadband-serviceable locations (BSLs) in underserved communities. While the deadline for BEAD funding has passed, states are continuing to use this accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date data to understand internet accessibility and develop strategic plans to increase broadband equity among their residents. This session will highlight how different states are approaching the broadband equity issue with geospatial data, as well as how they are applying this data beyond BEAD funding applications, including public safety.
