Associate Professor at the Department of Energy of the Politecnico di Milano
Marco Caresana graduated in physics at the University of Pavia in 1989. At present he is serving as Associate Professor at the Department of Energy of the Politecnico di Milano. He is in charge of the academic course “Radiation Detection and Measurements”, as part of the master of science in nuclear engineering.
He heads the Ionizing Radiation Metrology Lab of the Polytechnic, hosting two secondary standard calibration labs for photon dosimetry and 222Rn concentration in air. His main research activities are in the fields of radiation detection and measurements with particular focus on developing innovative instrumentation for personal and ambient dosimetry in mixed and pulsed radiation fields around high-energy accelerators.
Since 2011 he is voting member of EURADOS and member of WG11. He was elected member of the EURADOS council in 2016 and WG11 chair in 2017.
