Bio
Pierre-Olivier is a master electrical engineer in power electronics and renewable energy systems. He has over 18 years of experience across various academic and practical roles, including researcher, developer, installer, and professor. He joined Studer in 2005, working as a development engineer and then later as R&D Manager. In 2012, he moved to HES-SO Valais/Wallis as a researcher and professor in renewable energy and smart grid systems. He was also Innovation Engineer at Energies Sion Région (ESR), the local DSO in Sion. In 2014, he and Loïc Viret co-founded offgrid.ch, a company specializing in high-altitude off grid solar installations. In 2018, Pierre-Olivier rejoined Studer as a board member and CTO. He holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from EPFL, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne.
