Carey is the stock manager at Caberfeidh (Lone Star Farms), managing all the stock and stock team across 6,000ha and 32,000 stock units. Carey and the team run a very tech-focused business, finding practical ways to use technology day to day to improve productivity. Prior to Caberfeidh, Carey worked at Coleridge Downs for six years, starting in the cadetship programme and finishing as a block manager running the Lumina lamb programme. He grew up as a townie in Christchurch and considers himself lucky to get the opportunities he’s had in agriculture.
