Snežana Gebauer is executive managing director and head of the U.S. Investigations and Disputes practice at K2 Intelligence. Snežana has built her career as a corporate investigator through some of the largest and most complex international asset tracing and recovery matters. She has extensive experience assisting government agencies in tracing and recovering assets misappropriated by prior autocratic regimes and corrupt government officials, and in the enforcement of judgements or arbitration awards against companies, individuals and sovereigns.
As head of the firm’s U.S. Investigations & Disputes practice, Snežana also oversees corporate investigations focused on corruption and various types of fraud; business intelligence and due diligence engagements for investment funds and corporations; and investigations in support of high-stakes international legal disputes. Over the course of her career she has lived and worked in New York, London, Washington, D.C., and São Paulo, leading global investigative teams, managing client relationships, and relationships with law enforcement, government agencies, and within numerous industry groups in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.
Before joining K2 Intelligence, Snežana was a managing director at Kroll Associates, in New York and in São Paulo, Brazil. She oversaw Kroll’s operations in Brazil for five years, and in this capacity led several internal corruption investigations at Brazil’s largest companies prominently featured in the Lavajato scandal, as well as an asset tracing and recovery assignment for the Brazilian government. Prior to joining Kroll, Snežana spent seven years at another international business intelligence firm, where she established the firm’s New York office and managed complex investigations, intelligence and asset tracing assignments globally.
Snežana received her M.B.A. from George Washington University with a specialization in international finance and her B.A., summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Drake University. She also attended The American Institute on Political and Economic Systems at Georgetown University. She is fluent in five languages.
