Megan Holmstrom is an independent consultant with MathSpeakGlobal, working in PreK-G12 mathematics teaching & learning, with an emphasis mathematics teaching practices that impact student learning outcomes. Megan also currently serves on NCTM’s Teaching Children Mathematics editorial panel and she was most recently with The American School of Madrid in the role of Upper School Instructional Coach and Student Academic Support. Previous to Madrid, Megan was with The American School of Dubai as the Teaching & Learning Coach. While in Dubai, Megan engaged deeply with NESA’s Collaborative Communities - participating as a founding member and facilitator of both the Coaching Collaborative and Mathematics Collaborative. Throughout her 20 year career in education, Megan spent 12 years in the classroom, before moving into curriculum & instruction and coaching. While in the States, Megan was an adjunct faculty member at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles in the Center for Math & Science Teaching. As faculty, she co-taught weekly graduate courses, while working with public schools to develop teacher-leaders in elementary mathematics. Over the course of her career Megan also participated on an Instructional Materials Adoption Panel (California, 2005), as well as Teachers Mathematics Advisory Panel (California, 2009-2010). She is most excited about being a part of a community that supports teachers and students in all things mathematics teaching & learning!
