Majd Fayyad is a senior strategy expert and award-winning engineer with a track record of assisting NGOs and government organisations in developing innovative and transformative strategies and programs aimed at advancing decarbonisation, energy efficiency, and green building principles in the region.
Currently, Fayyad holds a leadership role at the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, leading strategy and policy development in areas such as demand-side management, water management, green mobility, and circular economy. He also serves as the director and board member of the newly launched platform, Advancing Net Zero Volunteering Team, which aims to accelerate net-zero cities in the UAE.
Prior to his current position, Fayyad held several notable roles, including senior energy advisor to the Royal Danish Consulate General in Dubai, technical lead at Emirates Green Building Council, and project manager of the National CDM Program for Solar Energy in Lebanon.
Fayyad’s expertise and contributions extend beyond his professional roles. He has been a speaker at over 50 flagship sustainability events in the UAE and the region, served as a jury member for various regional awards programs, and acted as the lead author of eight technical energy publications. Additionally, he was selected as part of the inaugural cohort of the Emerging Board Leaders Fellowship, powered by HSBC. This prestigious program recognises exceptional Arab and North African individuals under the age of 45, accelerating their journey to boardrooms.
He holds a master's degree in renewable energy, a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, and holds credentials including CEM, LEED AP, and TRUE Advisor.
