Julia-Maria Becker is the director of the Business Renewables Centre (BRC) Canada and the Alberta clean economy director at the Pembina Institute. Julia’s expertise is in emissions reductions policy, corporate procurement of renewables and stakeholder engagement strategies. She has worked with governments (provincial and national), utilities, industry associations, and with companies from across the energy sector.
Before working for the Pembina Institute Julia has worked for local and international non-profit organizations, for German and Mexican government institutions and for academia. Julia sits on the board of Energy Efficiency Alberta (EEA) and Student Energy and is fluent in German, English and Spanish.
