Amédée is head of Alpiq's Hydropower Generation business unit, which generates roughly 6 TWh per year, or roughly one fifth of Switzerland's hydopower capacity. He is a civil engineer by training (ETH Zürich), started his career working for engineering companies mostly in hydropower, spent 5 years in the USA where he obtained his MBA (Columbia University, New York) and worked as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company.
He came back to Switzerland where he joined Alpiq in 2015. He has held different positions within Alpiq since then, first as project manager, then as head of business projects and development, and finally as head of Alpiq's hydropower generation business unit, position he has held since 2019. In this role, he is also responsible for Alpiq's participation into Hydrospider, a company producing green hydrogen for mobility uses.
