I began volunteering for The Carbon Literacy Project in 2021 to enrich my experiences after completing a degree in Chemistry. Soon after, Auto Trader approached The Project with funding for the Automotive Toolkit - an accredited Carbon Literacy course designed specifically for automotive organisations. I was delighted to begin working on the development of this course and supporting organisations in the sector. In November 2021, we launched the Toolkit and from here we have trained almost 6,000 individuals from over 300 organisations. I have had the pleasure to work with organisations across automotive industry, from OEM to finance, salvage to retail.
Seeing people actively engage in decarbonising this emission heavy sector is nothing short of inspirational. It will be exciting to see how the sector will continue to develop as the Toolkit reaches more organisations.
