Bio
Heather is the lead TVN for Greater Glasgow and Clyde and has been a TVN for 14 years, prior to that she has worked in numerous roles including, cancer nurse specialist and nurse manager. Heather still has a clinical role and is often heard saying ‘she has the best job in the NHS’.
Heather is proud to lead a dedicated team covering NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, which is the largest health board in Europe comprising of 35 hospitals and 240 GP practices serving a population of 1.2 million. The team have been recipients of numerous awards and have been the Journal of Wound Care Award winners of the Pressure Area Care on two occasions.
Over the past 10 years Heather has presented nationally and internationally on tissue viability related topics.
Out with work Heather enjoys being outdoors with her husband, daughter and Dachshund Darcey. Her main role out of work is being groom and truck driver when her daughter is competing in horse riding competitions, two years ago at the age of 55 Heather took up riding and now competes at low key dressage. During the pandemic Heather joined the NHSGGC choir and is loving the camaraderie of the choir and sheer joy of being able to sing together after doing everything virtually for so long.
