Executive Vice President for Marketing & Strategy, Visit Fort Worth
Mitch Whitten is executive president for marketing and strategy at Visit Fort Worth, where he is responsible for all external outreach, tourism and the community’s Destination Master Plan. His team has focused their efforts on local recovery from COVID-19 and broadening community partnerships for the initiative Discover Diverse Fort Worth. In recent years, they launched the Fort Worth Film Commission, fostered the Hear Fort Worth music association and the award-winning video series “Fort Worth Stories.”
Boosting awareness of the city as a destination, Mitch and his team produced Fort Worth on Rainey at SXSW, combining music, tech and innovation in partnership with the private sector. In April 2019, Visit Fort Worth co-created the Texas Sounds & Cities conference with Governor Greg Abbott’s Texas Music Office.
His previous experience includes marketing at SMU, a private university in Dallas, and corporate communications at Pier 1 Imports.
