Steve has 30 years of experience in cybersecurity, digital forensics, and incident response. He began his career with KPMG's Information Risk Management practice, where he performed security audits and penetration testing, before leading the cybersecurity department for a large private financial services company that pioneered the introduction of wireless handheld trading technology into the financial markets.
Throughout his career, Steve has held technical and leadership roles with Raytheon, 16 years with EnCase, and 10 years with AccessData/Exterro. He has worked alongside numerous law enforcement agencies and U.S. government organizations, including the Intelligence Community, the Department of War, the Department of Energy, the U.S. Secret Service, the Department of Justice, the Department of State, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and many others. His expertise spans cybersecurity, digital forensics, incident response, and investigative technologies.
Outside of his professional career, Steve is passionate about mentoring and giving back to his community. He volunteers extensively with Scouting America and other youth organizations. He is also a certified firearms instructor in multiple disciplines, a licensed amateur radio operator, and an avid photographer. When time allows, he enjoys the shooting sports and connecting with amateur radio operators around the world.
