Bio
Dr. Michael Shafique joined the faculty of the Moffitt Cancer Center as an Assistant Member in the Department of Thoracic Oncology in July 2017. Dr. Shafique earned his MD degree at the University of Virginia, School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Duke University Medical Center and, most recently, a Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at University of South Florida/Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr. Shafique specializes in the treatment of lung cancer and the application of immunotherapy to fight a variety of cancers. His research focus is on early phase immunotherapy trials, including checkpoint inhibitors, vaccines and novel therapeutic agents.
