Roy S. Miclat is currently the President of 1 Cooperative Insurance System of the Philippines Life and General Insurance or simply 1CISP. He has been in the cooperative movement for almost 30 years and has been with 1CISP since 2013. Aside from insurance cooperative, he also worked in a Cooperative Bank and also taught college students taking Bachelor of Cooperatives.
His leadership turned around 1CISP 360 degrees from its financial state before. At present, 1 CISP has Php 3.2 billion in asset as of December 2019, from only Php 135 million before he assumed position as President. More than that, 1CISP received a recognition as Insurance Company of the Year in the Philippines Best Brands Award 2018. Further, 1CISP forge partnership this year to tech up the cooperatives in the Philippines, professionalize HR practitioners in the coop movement, and make the youth more excited and engaged. He firmly believes in developing young leaders and testament of that is having in his roster of senior officers two young leaders age less than 35.
