Bio
Lisa Ruan is a third-year law student at Widener University Delaware Law School. Prior to entering law school, she majored in Legal Studies and received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Temple University’s Fox School of Business.
In Spring 2021, Lisa joined DE-NJ NLG, where she serves as a law clerk for the Legal Research, Writing and Publications Practice. In this role, she assists with public record requests and the DE-NJ NLG Mass Defense Program’s Legal Monograph Series, “Legal Compendia for Community Organizers and Activists.” She has also conducted pre-intake client calls to explain limited scope engagement letters to clients.
Aside from DE-NJ NLG, Lisa also served as a judicial extern to two Judges in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, provided free civil assistance to low- income individuals and families at multiple public interest organizations, and served as both a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Widener University Delaware Law School. Additionally, she is actively involved with several organizations including the Delaware Law School NLG Student Chapter, Phi-Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, Asian Law Students Association, Women’s Law Caucus, and First-Generation Law Student Association.
