Violence Prevention Specialist

Katelyn Owens (Pronouns: she/her/hers) is a community educator and violence prevention program and curriculum expert at The Center for Family Justice (CFJ). Katelyn comes to CFJ with experiences working within the LGBTQ community providing direct service, programming, training, and technical assistance as well as training on college campuses around media literacy, healthy relationships, and gender-based violence. Katelyn's work is grounded in anti-racist and trauma-informed principles as well as the belief that cultural humility and empathy can lead us toward meaningful, productive, and lasting change.

Katelyn believes in the radical possibilities of community, connection, self-reflection, and joy to build a world where violence is not a common experience for any community.
