Bio
Polly Leonard, MSW RSW, is a Program Manager at the Mental Health Commission of Canada, where she brings expertise and an equity lens to her work on the PSS Standard project and as member the CSA Technical Committee responsible for writing its content. Polly’s previous roles include professor in the Social Service Worker program and Harm Reduction Project Manager at Algonquin College, where she spearheaded the AC Umbrella Project. Polly also worked at the Canadian Public Health Association on a public health approach to cannabis, as the community capacity builder. Polly also has direct clinical and supervisor experience, spending a few years working at Planned Parenthood Ottawa, and at the Sexual Assault Support Centre. Polly is a registered social worker and brings a community building approach to understanding human and societal behaviour, substance use and mental health.
