Laurice Levine, MA, CCLS, has her Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Education from University of California at Davis and her Master’s degree in Child and Family Studies from
Syracuse University, New York. After she completed her education she earned her Child Life
Certification which licenses her to do specialized clinical and psychosocial work with children in hospitals. Laurice has worked at several of the top hospitals on the West Coast, including UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland where she was the thalassemia outreach coordinator for 17 years. In 2016 she started her independent medical consulting practice. Laurice also works with the thalassemia team at Children’s Los Angeles. Laurice is a 47-year-old with transfusion dependent beta thalassemia. She receives blood every two weeks and chelates approximately 15-24 hours a day. Laurice has been married for 15 years and her and her husband have a 4-year-old son, a Corgi, and two birds. Laurice is a proud member of Savvy Cooperative and is honored to engage with the Rare Community.
