Dr. Ciliberti is Director of the Wound Care Centre at ASL Napoli 3 South, which serves over 1.1 million people across 57 municipalities in the Campania region. He leads the wound care service and coordinates the use of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) in the home care system.
A former specialist registrar in plastic and aesthetic surgery, he retains a strong interest in reconstructive surgery for burns and cutaneous cancers. He has co-authored several clinical studies on NPWT in home care, published in Acta Vulnologica, Wound Medicine, and Wounds.
Since 2009, Dr. Ciliberti has spearheaded an EU-funded initiative to modernize wound care provision across the region, including the establishment of a dedicated headquarters, standardized treatment protocols, and the CART consultancy service, which supports hospitals and community teams in enabling treatment at home.
More recently, his department has focused on regenerative surgery, developing protocols that combine dermal matrices with stem cell therapy for complex skin lesions.
