Todd M. McEvoy, PhD

Site Manager, Intertek Allentown

Todd McEvoy graduated with a BS in Chemistry and with Honors from Shippensburg University in 1998 and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. His work at UT focused on developing integrated spectral, microscopic, and electrochemical methods to study charge storage processes in electrochromic ion-storage materials. Upon graduation he pursued a postdoc at the Naval Research Laboratory, studying hybrid carbon:polymer ultracapacitors. Todd’s industrial career started when he joined the corporate analytical group at Air Products in 2004. In 2010 he made the transition to Intertek, initially in science-related roles within the microscopy and surface science group. Later he transitioned out of the lab and into leadership roles each with progressively more responsibility. He began as the service delivery manager, focusing on driving projects to completion, and then assumed the role of laboratory operations manager where the technical staff reported to him. In his current role as site manager, he is accountable for all aspects of a 40-member business including sales, operations, safety, and quality.
