Mr. Thorin Flynt is a seasoned business leader with over two decades of experience in the chemical industry, specializing in strategy, commercial leadership, and sustainability initiatives. He currently serves as Vice President of Regional Development at Evonik Corporation. Among his responsibilities, he leads the Evonik’s Global Energy Industry Team with a focus on traditional energy industries as well as emerging opportunities in Carbon Capture, Hydrogen Economy, and Circularity. He also champions the company’s North American Sustainability efforts and is Evonik’s lead Sustainability Coordinator with the American Chemistry Council (ACC) and Liaison Delegate with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). Prior to his current role, Thorin’s experience includes significant P&L and strategic responsibilities with roles in Global Business Management (Taminco), Americas Business Management (Eastman Chemical), Strategic Procurement (Evonik), and North American Sales Director (Evonik). His experience also includes major capex expansion investment justifications, negotiation, and talent development & mentorship. He has strong technical, supply chain management, and business foundations, with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering (North Carolina State University), a CPIM certification, and achievement in Strategic Marketing Essentials (The Wharton School).
