Belén Martín is the Managing Partner and Manager of Barcelona area at Evolution Yacht Agents in Spain.
She was born in Barcelona in 1973. After completeing her university degree (PPRR & Advertisement) in 1998 and after a few years combining a work and sports career, she decided to take a break by going to the French Alps. She was there for eighteen months, allowing time enough to breathe and to think about her next chapter. She always knew she wanted to start her own company in Barcelona at some point.
After being introduced to the yachting world, Belén worked onboard yachts for 8 years - 5 of them for a Spanish owner based in Barcelona. In 2006 she, alongside John, her ex husband, created J&B Yacht Services where a real family business grew. Only a year later they went on to manage Yacht Help in Barcelona, meeting Beatriz Alonso, General Manager of Yacht Help and based in Palma. After a few years working for this group, at that time managed by a very well-known company that had their interests focused on the Management side more than the Agency side, Beatriz invited Belén and John to start their own company. In September 2010, EVOLUTION was born, alongside Belén's child Johnny.
EVOLUTION was created with a very clear guiding philosophy in mind, which still stands today:
-being independent (their offices are located out of marinas, shipyards, etc)
-being based in and focused on Spain only (the industry is growing year by year and the company has lots to accomplish here)
-being orientated to the client 300% (the service they give needs to be outstanding)
-natural growth based on word of mouth
-having their personal touch and image.
