Joe Nicola is a Tax Partner with Sisterson & Co. LLP in Pittsburgh, PA. He has more than thirty-five years of experience in public accounting. He previously served as an adjunct member of the faculty at Duquesne University’s MBA and M.S. in Taxation programs, as well as the Master of Science in Taxation program at Robert Morris University, and is a published author of CPE/CLE texts and industry articles.
Joe has experience in many diverse areas of taxation, including the taxation of and planning for individuals and entities in the natural resources sector. He has heavy experience in general tax compliance and planning for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, and their owners. He is well-versed in ERISA and employee benefits matters, and has developed a strong professional relationship with all levels of the Internal Revenue Service, including examination, appeals, rulings and criminal (white collar) defense (via litigation support).
Joe received his B.S.B.A. from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh and his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Licensed Attorney in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and a Certified Valuation Analyst.
