Giedo is a Naval Architect and has a large appetite for new technology and complex problems that he wants to apply on both a short and long term. In his work he balances between development of long term strategies and hands-on tackling of today’s challenges.
He has long roots in maritime research and development when he worked for 13 years MARIN, after which he gained experience in yacht design, engineering, regulations, build and servicing in various Feadship companies.
Today he holds the position of Head of R&D of Feadship, the leading brand of full custom Superyachts. Under the Feadship brand, two mother companies (Royal van Lent and Koninklijke de Vries) cover the entire life cycle from early design through casco built and outfitting to refits. Superyachts are both ships as well as luxury resorts with all facilities one can imagine. Developments are therefore various, main long term tracks are sustainability, digitalization, structures, motions and modularity.
