Policy Officer, European Commission’s Directorate-General on Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME)
Bio
Adrian Carbajo-Ariza serves as a Policy Officer at the European Commission’s Directorate-General on Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME), where he contributes to the design and development of two new EU-wide border management IT systems: the Entry/Exit System (EES) and the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS). Prior to this, he worked as a Programme Manager at the International Institute for Justice and the Rule of Law (IIJ), where he led the organisation’s efforts in strengthening regional judicial cooperation in criminal matters across East and West African countries. Adrian also worked with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) assisting participating States with the deployment of passenger data and biometric collection systems for countering terrorism. He holds degrees in Law and Political Science from Universidad Carlos III and a Master’s in EU International Relations from the College of Europe.
