Dr. Buchanan-waite has over 10 years of experience in the medical field after receiving her medical degree at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona Campus, where she also did her post-graduate studies in Paediatric Surgery.
She chose her field as it combines her passion for surgery and her love for children. Her aim is to provide top class healthcare for Jamaica's children and is trained in mass casualty management.
She attended Campion College where she first learned time management and leadership skills that have certainly provided a solid foundation for what she has been able to achieve (including being an exec member of the JMDA for 8 years during which she was Treasurer, Vice President, President, and conference manager).
She is an avid believer in education as an integral key to individual development and that of society.
Dr Waite is also an avid sports fan, (evidenced by her 3 wonderful boys being named after footballers), and also loves reading and doing puzzles.
