David is the past President of the Social Studies Supervisors Association of New York City (SSSA) and the 2014 recipient of the Bernard Cohen award for Assistant Principal of the year for New York City. He supervised the NYCDOE’s initiative to create curriculum for all high school social studies courses through the office of the Executive Director of Social Studies. Brooklyn Technical High School is the largest specialized public high school for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in the United States, as well as, having the largest student population of any high school in the country at over 6,000 students. Brooklyn Tech has the largest college credit bearing Advanced Placement program in the world. The school has been awarded a distinction of being a “Respect For All” school based on David’s efforts and initiatives around equity and inclusion.
