Karrie Jane Raymond is earned her B.A. from Vanderbilt University in May 2021. She is now currently working on receiving her master’s from Vanderbilt as part of the MHS 4+1 B.A./M.A. program. During her undergraduate time, Vanderbilt she majored in Medicine, Health, and Society with a minor in Cognitive Studies. Karrie was also the 2020 recipient of the Walther Award for VUcept Excellence (WAVE) in the Diversity Awareness category and the 2021 recipient of the Dr. Dorothy Wingfield Phillips Award for Leadership for her contributions to Vanderbilt’s Caribbean Students Association. As a Haitian-American woman, Karrie is passionate about advocating for racially/ethnically marginalized groups and exploring how historical and political events shape their health. Ultimately, Karrie hopes that through her research she can promote health advocacy and health education programs for marginalized populations.
