Mr TAM Chi-Wing Victor obtained his Bachelor of Science in Radiography (first-class honours) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2016. He worked as a radiation therapist for three years in a public hospital before joining the university as a full-time PhD student. He obtained his Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2019.
His PhD project focuses on the effects of Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) in the management of chemo- and radiation-induced side effects experienced by cancer patients. There is huge potential for using PBMT as a prophylactic intervention, since current management mainly focuses on symptomatic relief. His research interests also include health behaviour and public health education on chronic diseases such as cancers and heart disease.
