Bio
Will Giese is the current Executive Director for the Hawaii Solar Energy Association, Hawaii's oldest and largest local solar industry organization. Formerly a solar PV designer and EMT, Mr. Giese’s work focuses on policy analysis, creation, and advocacy of clean energy policy through the use of rooftop solar PV and solar hot water. He is heavily involved in regulatory and legislative issues regarding solar energy in Hawaii. He is also the current chair of the Sierra Club of Hawaii's Energy Sub-committee, where he advises the chapter on a variety of clean energy policies impacting the state. He has experience in utility policy, solar PV and solar thermal energy systems design, natural gas policy and regulation, and is the proud owner of a very athletic Red Nose Pitbull named Eva. Prior to his work in Hawaii, Mr. Giese was an EMT in the Madison, Wisconsin where he worked on both ambulances and emergency rooms that served the southern region of Wisconsin.

Mr. Giese holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Public Policy and Sustainable Development from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville and a Master’s degree at the University of Hawaii – Manoa in Public Administration where he graduated with honors. Mr. Giese lives with his fiancé and dog in Mililani, Hawaii.
