Simona Šandalová is a PhD candidate at the Department of Energy, Politecnico di Milano, focusing on the development of novel materials for the pre-disposal management of challenging radioactive waste within the EURAD-2 WP6 STREAM and WP7 L’OPERA. She also serves as the representative of the EURAD-2 Young Generation community.
She has a background in Radiochemistry and Project Management for Decommissioning and Radioactive Waste Management, and experience across the nuclear backend, gained at Sogin SpA working within the H2020 PREDIS and HARPERS projects, as well as at the IAEA Department of Nuclear Energy, supporting activities focused on spent fuel management.
Simona is a recipient of the IAEA Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship and an active member of Women in Nuclear Italy.
