Dr Aubrey Smith is a Consultant Interventional Neuroradiologist at North Bristol NHS Trust, providing diagnostic services and minimally invasive treatments affecting the brain and the spine.
Qualifying from Imperial College London after gaining scholarship entry, Dr Smith has attained his MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons England before gaining his FRCR through an Academic Clinical Fellowship at Hull University Hospitals. He trained through the Pan-Yorkshire fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology; gaining experience in haemorrhagic and stroke pathology, vertebroplasty and pain management at three of the largest Neuroscience centres in Northern England - Leeds, Hull and Sheffield.
Dr Smith has a postgraduate diploma in research training and has led multiple research projects, presenting nationally and internationally. He is passionate about training and education, having organised national training courses in stroke treatment. He has acted in an advisory capacity on behalf of the UK Neurovascular group NHSE National Mechanical Thrombectomy implementation visits. Dr Smith was previously appointed as Deputy Training Programme Director for Radiology in East Yorkshire and currently holds the position of Chair of the Training, Education and Research Committee at the UK Neurovascular Group.
