As Manulife’s Head, Talent Acquisition & Chief Diversity Officer, Lisa Butler is responsible for ensuring that Manulife has the top-notch talent it needs to stay ahead as digital technology transforms the insurance industry landscape.
To accomplish this goal, Lisa works in partnership with Manulife’s business and Human Resources (HR) leadership to ensure the Company attracts a high performing global workforce. As leader of Global Talent Acquisition and Diversity, she provides thought leadership in the areas of talent acquisition strategy, talent development, succession, workforce planning, and diversity and inclusion. Lisa and her team develop and deliver programs that are effective across Manulife’s global organization, while also being locally relevant across the range of markets in which the Company operates.
Since Lisa joined Manulife in 2003, she has held a variety of senior positions in HR including Head of HR for Manulife Canada, and most recently Head of HR for Manulife Asia and Global Talent Management, Diversity and Inclusion.
Before joining Manulife, Lisa led the Client Services practice for a large executive search firm. She has a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of Guelph. Outside of Manulife, Lisa is an avid traveler – a few of her favourite destinations include Kyoto, Japan, Angkor Wat in Siem Reap Cambodia, and Hanoi, Vietnam. She’s also a fan of the arts, especially the musical Hamilton (“So innovative, and profiles diversity in an unconventional way!”), and a busy mother of two.
