Susan is a CEO, Founder, lawyer, and international speaker with a deep commitment to uplifting and empowering women. Susan founded Origen Air in 2019 to produce plant-based, IoT-connected commercial air purification systems that incorporate genetically engineered golden pothos ivy plants to metabolize volatile organic compounds from the air while removing CO2 and supplying oxygen. Susan believes that access to clean air is a human right. Prior to starting her company, Susan was a lawyer and worked as legal counsel for the province of BC for 14 years. Susan was recently chosen as the Awardee for the 2023 WE Empower United Nations SDG Challenge for the North America and Europe region. In her free time, Susan enjoys sailing the local Gulf islands, coaching and playing soccer, and doing
