Dr Ariella Heffernan-Marks is the founder and CEO of Ovum. With a Doctor of Medicine from Macquarie University and a specialised background in Reproductive Biology and Embryology from Monash University.
Dr Heffernan-Marks previously worked at the prestigious Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, where she gained invaluable clinical experience and a deep understanding of patient care. Dr Heffernan-Marks’ applied that experience, bringing a unique blend of medical expertise and technological innovation to the forefront of women's healthcare in Ovum A.I.
Dr Heffernan-Marks was awarded the ‘Deans Fellowship Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence’ for her achievements in Reproductive Biology from Monash University in 2016. She also received the Academic Excellence Award for her medical cohort issued by Macquarie University in 2022. In 2023, she was awarded the TOW Randwick Innovation Precinct People’s Choice Award in the Clinical Division. Most recently, she has been awarded the LIFTwomen Best Project Award. Ovum was awarded $23,000 through LIFTWomen to kickstart their crowdfunding journey.
Dr Heffernan-Marks has also been a part of the UNSW 10x Health pre-accelerator and SpringBoard enterprises Evolve program, which exclusively chose Ovum to participate in their exclusive cohorts.
