Whitby-born Andrew took over ownership of The Star Inn at Harome, in the North Yorkshire Moors, near Helmsley, in 1996 aged just 25 and quickly fashioned this into one of the first ever Michelin-starred ‘Gastropubs’. The pretty C14th thatched Inn has expanded over the years to include hotel accommodation and 4 new rooms will be added to the existing 9 in September 2020.
In October 2013, Andrew opened a riverside Brasserie-style restaurant, The Star Inn The City in the historic centre of York and in June 2017, its sister restaurant, The Star Inn The Harbour in his hometown of Whitby
