Monica graduated from St. Catherine University, now called St. Kate’s! Fresh out of school (graduating class of 1986), Monica returned to her previous place of employment where she began as a classroom aide for a therapeutic preschool to serve as an outpatient pediatric therapist. Monica continued to attend symposiums and workshops and has completed training with certification in such evidence-based practices as the Therapressure Touch Protocol, Therapeutic Listening and Interactive Metronome.
In 2014 Monica took the leap into the educational community, and is currently employed at Intermediate school district 287. District 287 is a partner with other school districts in the area to provide intervention/service to the students with the most significant needs and challenges. Her caseload is 30% a transition program, servicing 18-21-year-olds, some Care and Treatment students and 70% in the Early intervention program serving children and families birth-two years of age with our Eden Prairie member school district. Monica loves the work she does with her students and parents and feels the best aspect about her role as an occupational therapist working in pediatrics is that she gets to play everyday!
