Matt Getty is the Lead Captain of a Gulfstream G500 flight department based out of Teterboro Airport, bringing three decades of aviation experience to his role. Matt’s career is marked by leadership, technical acumen, and a dedication to excellence.
Prior to his current position, Matt—then Colonel Getty—served as the Commander of the 89th Operations Group at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. In this role, he was entrusted with overseeing airlift operations for the Vice President, First Lady, and Cabinet members, ensuring the highest standards of safety and security for the nation’s leaders.
Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a master’s degree from Air University. He further distinguished himself as a National Defense Fellow at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. His career has encompassed a wide spectrum of responsibilities, from operational command to strategic international policy and special operations.
Matt supports future aviation professionals by managing a strong network of former and current military aircrew and maintainers pursuing careers in business aviation. His leadership continues to inspire and connect professionals across the industry.
