Technical Officer, Asia Region, Food Fortification Initiative
Bio
As a technical officer in the Asia Region for the Food Fortification Initiative, Becky provides technical support to governments planning, implementing, and monitoring mandatory cereal grain fortification programs. Part of her role at FFI is also to facilitate communications and sharing of resources among the network of partners in rice fortification. Prior to joining FFI, Becky was an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education fellow at the
US Center for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities. Her work there focused on the global initiative to eliminate folic acid preventable birth defects. Becky received her master's degree in public health, with an emphasis on global health and public nutrition, at Emory University, and her bachelor degree at the University of California, Berkeley.
