Jeremy Hay's first news job was at the Tenderloin Times in San Francisco. Later, he edited the St. Helena Star; wrote for Wired; then was a staff writer at The Press Democrat, where he won recognition for public service and enterprise reporting and was a lead reporter on a team that won a George Polk award for covering globalization's impacts. As a 2015 JSK Fellow at Stanford University, he focused on community engagement journalism. In 2016, Hay co-founded Spaceship Media to use journalism to reduce polarization and rebuild trust in media, collaborating on dialogue projects with news organizations nationwide.
