Born, raised, and educated in the Pacific Northwest, Maxine is a pulmonary (lung) and critical care doctor, working at Kaiser Permanente. She takes care of the sickest patients in the hospital, people on life support, people with COVID19. When she was 16, she got a union job at an Albertsons grocery store. She credits that job, with full benefits and good wages, to allow her to work her way through high school, college, and into medical school. Maxine is passionate about the power of community and government support, and is now running for office to do all she can “to be sure each and every Oregonian gets the same shot that I got to achieve my dreams.”
